Wampler Compulsion Drive (TCD)
The Wampler Compulsion Drive (TCD) is Brian Wampler’s reimagining of a legendary distortion circuit, combining classic character with expanded tonal control and modern versatility. It delivers everything from articulate crunch and sparkling overdrive to rich saturation and soaring lead tones, with the dynamic response and attention to detail Wampler pedals are known for.
One of the standout features is the 3-band EQ, giving you independent control over bass, mids, and treble so you can shape the circuit to work with your guitar and amplifier.
The Mode switch provides two distinct clipping flavors. In the standard position, the TCD delivers a traditional gain structure. Flip the switch and the circuit engages a harder-hitting, more tube-like character using cascaded MOSFET gain stages, adding additional punch and saturation.
There’s even more tonal flexibility inside the pedal. Two internal DIP switches allow further customization:

Fat Switch: Adds low-end warmth and a thicker foundation.
