JHS Pedals Wanderer – Dual Overdrive Pedal

Two iconic overdrive circuits. Four gain options. Limitless signal-chain flexibility.

The JHS Pedals Wanderer brings together two of JHS’s most beloved drive circuits in one compact, highly versatile enclosure: the Morning Glory V4 and the NOTAKLÖN. Designed for players who want exceptional tone and complete control over their signal chain, the Wanderer combines classic Bluesbreaker-style overdrive with expressive Klon-style drive, delivering everything from subtle edge-of-breakup tones and clean boost to rich, stacked overdrive and punchy lead sounds.

Unlike traditional dual overdrive pedals, the Wanderer features independent input and output jacks for each circuit, allowing you to insert other effects between them or integrate each side into a separate loop on a switcher. Prefer a straightforward setup? Use the main input and output to operate it as a conventional two-in-one pedal.

Each circuit also features its own remote-switching jack, providing instant access to four distinct gain configurations without reaching down to adjust your controls. Switch between the Morning Glory’s standard and high-gain modes or the NOTAKLÖN’s original and modified voicings, then stack the circuits in either order to create an expansive range of rhythm and lead tones.

Key Features

  • Two iconic circuits: Combines the JHS Morning Glory V4 and NOTAKLÖN for complementary Bluesbreaker-style and Klon-style overdrive.
  • Four gain configurations: Access standard and high-gain Morning Glory modes alongside the original and Shamrock-modified NOTAKLÖN voicings.
  • Independent circuit routing: Dedicated input and output jacks for each side provide flexible pedalboard integration and switcher compatibility.
  • Flexible signal-chain order: Choose which circuit comes first when using the main input and output, or route each circuit independently using the individual FX jacks.
  • Remote switching capability: Dedicated Red Remote jacks for both circuits allow external footswitching of their gain toggles.
  • Versatile tonal range: Go from clean boost and subtle breakup to fuller overdrive, increased midrange, and stacked lead tones.
  • Bright Cut switch: Tames excess high frequencies on the Morning Glory side for better compatibility with bright rigs.
  • Compact, space-saving design: Houses two independent drive circuits in a vertical enclosure with top-mounted jacks and shared power.
  • Silent soft-touch switching and buffered bypass for convenient, quiet operation.

Controls and Tone Shaping

NOTAKLÖN side

  • Volume: Adjusts output level, including up to +16 dB of clean boost when the Gain control is fully counterclockwise.
  • Gain: Controls overdrive intensity and increases midrange as it is turned up.
  • Treble: Adjusts high-frequency boost or cut, with noon providing a neutral setting.
  • Shamrock Mod toggle: Adds approximately 4 dB of gain, more midrange, and an additional hard-clipping stage.

Morning Glory V4 side

  • Volume: Controls output level.
  • Drive: Adjusts gain and adds brightness as it increases.
  • Tone: Controls overall brightness.
  • Gain toggle: Engages high-gain mode, adding another gain stage, a slight volume boost, and a fuller sound. The LED turns red when active.
  • Bright Cut switch: Reduces the highest frequencies when a darker overall response is desired.

Center Order toggle: Selects which circuit comes first when using the main input and output. This control is bypassed when the individual FX jacks are used for independent routing.

Ideal For

The JHS Wanderer is an excellent choice for guitarists who want the complementary tones of a Morning Glory and Klon-style overdrive without sacrificing pedalboard space or routing flexibility. It's equally suited to players building their first premium drive section and experienced musicians using programmable switchers, complex signal chains, or multiple gain stages for live performance and studio recording.

Run the Morning Glory as an always-on foundation, stack the NOTAKLÖN for added drive, and use the remote gain modes for instant rhythm-to-lead transitions. With independent routing and flexible stacking, the Wanderer offers an adaptable drive setup in a single pedal.
