The JHS Pedals Volture is a modern voltage-sag utility designed to recreate one of the classic secrets behind legendary fuzz tones: a dying battery. Vintage fuzz circuits are highly sensitive to their supply voltage, and lowering that voltage can produce unique gated, sputtery, compressed, glitchy, and unstable tones that simply aren't possible at a standard 9V supply.
The Volture puts that control directly at your feet. Place it between your power supply and an analog pedal, then use the Volture's adjustable control to precisely reduce the voltage and find your pedal's sweet spot.
Adjustable Voltage Sag
The Volture accepts 9V, 12V, or 18V DC input and lets you dial the output anywhere from 7.5V down to 1.25V DC. Lower the voltage to make your fuzz increasingly gated, distorted, sputtery, and unpredictable.
While designed specifically for vintage fuzz circuits, the Volture works with any fully analog pedal, making it an easy way to experiment with unusual sounds from overdrives, distortions, and other analog effects.

Important: The Volture is intended for fully analog pedals only. Do not use it with digital or logic-based circuitry, as inadequate voltage can potentially damage those pedals.
As the voltage drops, the Volture's LED will dim along with it—giving you a visual indication of how far you've pushed the sag.
