Gibson Custom Shop Gary Clark Jr. Custom ES-355 in Cobra Burst
Gibson Custom, in partnership with Gary Clark Jr., proudly introduces the Gary Clark Jr. Custom ES-355 — inspired by the moment Clark first saw B.B. King wielding one on stage, making this ES-355 his new number-one guitar. Clark is a four-time GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Austin, Texas, known for fusing blues, rock, soul, and hip-hop into a genre-defying sound. He has two previous Gibson and Epiphone signature models — an SG and Casino — and this ES-355 represents his latest collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop. The guitar features a three-ply maple/poplar/maple body with a figured maple outer layer, a mahogany neck with a 50s Rounded Medium C profile, and a bound ebony fretboard with 22 Historic medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl block inlays. Multi-ply binding adorns the body and headstock, which features a Custom split diamond inlay and Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons. Electronics include a pair of unpotted Custombuckers with Alnico 3 magnets, wired to CTS audio taper pots and paper-in-oil capacitors, along with a Switchcraft three-way toggle and 1/4" output jack. A mono Varitone circuit with a black chicken head knob provides additional tonal flexibility, and a Bigsby B7 Vibrato is included. Hardware is VOS nickel, including an ABR-1 Historic no-wire bridge. The guitar is finished in VOS Cobra Burst. This special run is limited to 100 guitars, handcrafted by Gibson Custom Shop artisans in Nashville, Tennessee. Hard shell case included.
