Epiphone 1962 ES-335 Reissue in Sixties Cherry

The Gibson ES-335 stands as one of the most iconic guitar designs, celebrated for its remarkable versatility across numerous musical genres. It merges the advantages of solidbody and thinline hollowbody construction, featuring an internal solid maple centerblock that enhances resonance while significantly reducing feedback compared to fully hollow guitars. In collaboration with Gibson Custom, Epiphone proudly presents the 1962 ES-335 Reissue. This model draws inspiration from Gibson Custom's ES-335 line but specifically replicates the 1962 version—a year Gibson Custom doesn't currently reissue—known for desirable features like rounded cutaways, small block inlays, and a slender, fast-playing neck profile. The Epiphone 1962 ES-335 Reissue boasts a semi-hollow body constructed from 5-ply layered maple/poplar with rounded cutaways and a solid maple centerblock, ensuring excellent sustain and resistance to feedback. Its authentic one-piece mahogany neck features a thin 1960s SlimTaper C profile, topped with a rosewood fretboard equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl small block inlays. The fretboard's rounded edges provide a comfortable, broken-in feel, encouraging extended playing sessions. Even the side dot markers match the size and historically accurate placement of vintage 1962 models. The Gibson-style "open book" headstock showcases the Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown inlaid in aged mother-of-pearl, complemented by smooth Epiphone Deluxe tuners with Double Ring Keystone-style buttons and a Graph Tech nut. An ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and a Gibson historic reissue aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece secure the strings directly into the centerblock, further boosting sustain. Electronically, the guitar features a pair of USA-made Gibson Custombucker humbucker pickups, hand-wired to CTS potentiometers and Black Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors, delivering the authentic tonal range characteristic of the ES-335, making it suitable for rock, blues, jazz, country, and beyond. Available in Sixties Cherry and Vintage Burst finishes with a vintage gloss for an authentic retro aesthetic, the guitar also includes a vintage-style black hardshell case with a plush Goldenrod interior and "Inspired by Gibson Custom" graphics to protect the instrument during storage and transport.
