In the past, players have used the term “Banjo Killer” to describe these guitars. It was the original old time band and bluegrass choice for many a picker. I prefer to think of the Kopp Jumbo as slope shoulder guitar that can “play nice” with other instruments while fitting in and filling out the band, but it can step “up and over” when it needs to”. Tonally, it is a very robust and unique guitar. It’s voice cuts perfectly in the studio as well and records wonderfully. It is an absolutely great guitar for tracking. The Kopp Jumbo has a lot of headroom on tap. Its defined high mids, enveloping bottom end and balanced trebles really make this guitar a versatile and unique instrument for any style of music. It won’t let you down live either. If a bluegrass jam happens to break out, this Kopp Jumbo will stand tall.
