Review of the Martin D10e Road Series Acoustic

THE REVISED ROAD SERIES D10E FROM MARTIN

The Road Series from Martin guitars has always done two things, created incredible guitars and kept the price in a more affordable range. This year Martin revised a few of the Road Series models and the updated Martin D10e is a dreadnought that is ready for the road.

It is also worth noting the D10e replaces both the DRS1 and DRS2 Road Series guitars.

A SOLID WOOD, ROAD READY GUITAR

With a Sitka spruce top and Sapele back and sides, new features to this model include stunning mother-of-pearl pattern fingerboard and rosette inlays with a multi-stripe rosette border. It has an FSC Certified Richlite fingerboard & bridge, satin finish body, and a hand-rubbed neck finish.

Available with or without electronics, if you choose electronics, it will be equipped with a Fishman MX-T electronics package with a built-in soundhole tuner. This tuner actually auto mutes the audio output so you can tune up any time without using a pedal.

WHO IS THE MARTIN D10E GUITAR MADE FOR?

The Martin D10e, along with the rest of the Road series are made for players who love the Martin tone and feel, but either don't yet have the budget for a D-18 or D-28 or need a solid guitar for traveling and gigs that can get a little banged up without too much stress. This is a solid wood Martin with a current starting street price of only $829, so it easily checks the "bang for the buck" box.

THE BOTTOM LINE

The Martin D10e Acoustic guitar is ready for your next gig and is an incredible value in an all wood Martin Dreadnought. This guitar was built with the performing player in mind with a Performing Artist neck shape and High-Performance neck taper, available Fishman electronics and

I owned Martin guitars some years ago and recently decided to once again purchase one. Having limited funds I opted for the D10 road series. The overall quality and sound of this instrument is Martin all the way. And for the price it’s a great buy.
