Presenting two of the most incredible "Art Guitars" we've ever seen. This pair of vintage Gibson SJ-200s were purchased by Paul and have been a center piece in our high-end acoustic room for many years. I'll let him describe them below...
I first saw these when a friend of mine sent a photo of them from a store out in Michigan. I called the store and asked what these were and would they sell them? Come to find out the store had them for many years and I'm not sure exactly the story but at some point the daughter of the gentleman who owned them, obviously a very eccentric person probably a little on the wild side. (his name is inside the guitars) had gotten into a little bit of trouble and the guitars ended up in pawn.
The one in leather is I believe a 1958 and other one of the Sunburst one is 1962 or so both SJ-200. Both “Bedazzled” beyond belief…. horseshoes, coins, rings, in the headstock and they're just “Americana history” and truly “folk art”. The gentleman who played them must have been a real character and they represent that. They are very cool vintage guitars. Some people say: “oh the guy just ruined those guitar” because they were vintage guitars but in my opinion they are now amazing pieces of art combined with classic Gibson vintage guitars. Truly one of the most awesome unique SJ-200s I’ve ever seen.
*Note that these guitars will be sold as a pair.
